Tribute to
Philip 'Tant' Pittaway
We would like to pay tribute to long time club stalwart Philip Pittaway, known to many at the club as Tant, who passed away recently.

Geoff Miles recalls that Tant played for the club as a left arm opening bowler in the 1960s and 70s. He also happened to be scoring on the day that a young Ted Dexter hit over 80 runs for Radley School against Shipton. Tant ran the clubhouse bar for several years during the 1970s and was president of the club in 2001 and 2002, taking Shipton all the way to a victorious National Village Knockout final at Lord's in 2002.

A Vice President in recent years and a regular supporter of the club, Tant was present on many Saturday evenings to watch the conclusion of league matches and was always ready with an opinion on the day's events. Tant will be sadly missed.
